Cupping Therapy
Cupping involves creating suction on the skin using a glass cup. It can be placed and left for several minutes in a specific spot, or it can be glided along the soft tissue area of complaint. This can usually cause bruise looking spots known as petechiae. It has been shown to promote blood flow, reduce pain, and can also help to loosen tight muscles and fascia, potentially reducing pain and improving range of motion. Cupping can help athletes with muscle recovery and injury rehabilitation.
